Oak Hills Reception and Event Center is a full-service wedding venue based in Layton, Utah which is about 30 minutes northwest of Salt Lake City. The owner, Shirelle Benard, purchased the venue and land in 2018 and has since transformed the space into one of Northern Utah's premiere wedding venues. Their views of the mountains are one of the biggest draws for in-state couples and destination weddings.
When you call or inquire on their website to take a tour of the venue, one of your first contacts may be Aleesha or another of Oak Hill's team members. If we were to say one thing that stands out to us about Oak Hills, it would be their service. The staff is with you from the first moment of booking, up through the end of your wedding day. From our experience, working with the team at Oak Hills we can say that they truly care about each of their couples and their guests. They will make sure all questions are answered, that you have the wedding of your dreams, and that your wedding day runs like a dream! We cannot say enough good about them!

The Ballroom
When you pull into Oak Hills the first thing you'll notice is the incredible view of the mountain ranges directly to the east. The second thing you'll see is the main building. The main building at Oak Hills holds the Bridal Suite, Groom's Room, and an elegant ballroom space for classic dinners and receptions.
The Bridal Suite
The Bridal Suite at Oak Hills Reception and Event Center is one of their newest renovations and it is gorgeous! The room is lined with windows to allow for natural light, hair and makeup mirrors and counter space, plush couches, and gold trimmed details.
Ceremony Garden
The prettiest views of the mountains, a little stream and bridge, shaded pergolas for your guests, and a Tuscan garden ceremony arch are just a few things that make up the Ceremony Garden at Oak Hills. There aren't many views like this for weddings in Utah, which is why it's one of the biggest draws to couples from Utah and for destination weddings!
Wedding Party Portraits
There is an area of trees that make for the perfect backdrop for your wedding party and family portraits! They provide just enough shade to keep you and your family and friends cooler and looking your very best, plus the light is just beautiful coming through the trees!
Couple's Portraits
Whether it is the field and mountain views, the Garden Ceremony site, the lodge pole pines near the stream, or the "Wild Trees!" (our name for the area :) ) that features the backdrop you love the most, Oak Hills has it! Any of these areas provide a gorgeous location for those photos of you two that you would love to hang up on your walls for years to come!
Rustic Barn
The Rustic Barn is one of the newer features at Oak Hills, and Shirelle and her team have put in the time to make it really stand out! They just recently installed a new greenery chandelier. It's our favorite indoor location for a reception or indoor ceremony. The space is a great size for small, or average size groups of guests AND one of the biggest perks is the outdoor lawn space for yard games and extra tables.
Sparkler Sendoff!
There is nothing quite like a sparkler sendoff at Oak Hills! When you exit, you will leave through the big sliding barn doors on a paved path that will be surrounded on each side by your friends and family holding sparklers! As you continue on the path, you'll end your journey back at the main building surrounded by twinkling lights strung from the pines to the main building.
What is the catering policy at Oak Hills?
Couples that book at Oak Hills are required to use their in house catering services. Their chef Shawnee is amazing! You can view menus on their website here.
