5 Tips to Find the Wedding Vendors that Are Right for You

Utah Wedding Tips and Advice

You’ve got a ring on your finger, your significant other by your side, and you are ready to take on wedding planning! As you are completing your checklist, you realize that there is a lot more to planning a wedding day than you originally thought. Finding the wedding vendors that are a perfect fit for you and your big day can be tricky. To help make your decision process easier, here are 5 tips to help you find the wedding vendors that are right for you!

1. Do the Wedding Vendors Focus on Serving Their Clients?

Service isn’t placed at the top of our list by accident. Wedding vendors fall into the “service industry” and the way that each professional treats their couples should exemplify this. When you are looking for your photographers, florist, cake artist, videographers, and even your venue take note on if you feel like they are serving you well. Pay special attention to their customer service. Do the vendors that you are inquiring with have good communication? Are they responsive to emails and phone calls? Also, do they seem like they genuinely care about you as a couple? We know that this time in your life is one that will pass by quickly and that it is so important for it to be captured well. Our focus on our clients shows as we serve them the way we would want to be treated on our wedding day. Through our education and experience we’ve learned how to do exactly that. We love each of them and genuinely enjoy getting to know them throughout the time leading up to their wedding day!

2. How about Their Personality?

You need to be sure that you get along with your wedding vendors. More than anything you need to make sure you get along well with your photographers, videographers, wedding coordinators, and anyone else that will be there alongside you on your wedding day. It’s just as important to your wedding vendors that your personalities mesh, because it makes creating friendships come naturally and that makes the whole process fun!

To know if you and your wedding vendors are a good personality fit, check out their website and their social media pages. Can you connect with them? Do you have things in common? Do you like their website? Along with checking out their web presence, you should also meet them face-to-face before you book them for your wedding day. When you meet someone face-to-face it becomes so much easier to see how your personalities will mesh and how well you will get along.

3. Do They Fit Your Style?

When you choose your wedding vendors, they need to be able to create what you are envisioning for your wedding day. In the world of photographers, there are multiple photography styles and editing styles. Some of the popular ones out there now are bright and airy/true to color (that we fall into), moody, fine art, and dramatic. The way that photographers pose and photograph their clients will also be different depending on the style that they shoot. We focus on the joy and happiness of the wedding day, along with the personalities of our couples and the way that we pose and edit reflects that.

Other vendors that aren’t photographers or videographers should fit your style as well. Every cake artist is different, each venue has a unique look, and every florist has different strengths. Each have unique training and education, so it is important to communicate what you are looking for when you meet with them. As you explore your options online, look to see if they have examples of what you are looking for.

4. Consider Your Budget

Before you look into any vendors, you should determine what your wedding budget will be. For tips on creating your budget, check out this blog post! With wedding vendors it is important to be aware that you will usually get what you pay for. Many wedding professionals do what they do as a career. They also continually increase their skills through education and experience, and there are only so many weddings they can take on throughout the year. Those are some of the reasons why vendors are priced the way they are. As you create your budget, figure out what your priorities are and what you are okay with spending more or less of the budget on if necessary.

5. Do Your Research

Recommendations and reviews are so important. Do you feel comfort after looking at Google reviews for a doctor or restaurant before you make a decision of where to go? We do too! Reviews tell you a lot about a business and can bring a sense of assurance when you are deciding. Recommendations and referrals from friends and other wedding vendors can be a great help too. It’s always nice to talk to someone who has had great experiences in the past with a particular vendor! We also have a list of our favorite vendors that we share with our couples.

Finding the right vendors can be complicated, but hopefully this list helps you in your search! We cannot stress enough the importance of finding vendors that are a good fit for you and your wedding, and also ones that will serve you well!
