Tori + Tyler
Before any photography session, we are always very vigilant about the weather. If there’s more than a 30% chance of rain, we will usually reschedule a session. As we started Tori and Tyler’s session there was a really low chance of rain (about 20%) so we didn’t think we had anything to worry about. As photographed the two of them in the Aspen trees, we heard the rumble of thunder. It wasn’t clear how far away the thunder was, but it continued to rumble. Suddenly, a few raindrops started to fall. We knew that we had a rogue storm cell that was about to come over us during this rainy Snowbasin wedding formal session. Thankfully, Tori and Tyler didn’t mind a little bit of rain, but we still hurried as fast as we could since the soft rain began to turn into a torrential downpour!
When we were first meeting with Tori and Tyler, we asked them to show us a photo that means something. Tori chose a photo of her soaked in a rainstorm. She said it brought back memories of her and her family. Throughout their formal session, we remembered this photo. We thought about how fitting it was that the conditions were similar to the photo that she chose to show us! Also during that first meeting, we found out that Tori LOVES Aspen trees. They wanted wedding photos with Aspens, however, their wedding didn’t really have many Aspen Trees that we could capture in their photos. Tori and Tyler didn’t want to see each other before their wedding day, but they also wanted Aspen trees. Because of this, they chose to do a formal session a few weeks after their wedding date. Such an awesome idea!
After the storm passed, we were rewarded with a very large rainbow coming across the sky and some amazing clouds.
Tori and Tyler, thanks for being adventurous in the rain with us! We are excited for you two and wish you all the best!
