Jordan River Temple Winter Wedding

“Mi hijo Dominicano” This is the title that Stephanie’s mom, Donna, gave to Wichar during their luncheon after Stephanie and Wichar’s Jordan River Temple winter wedding. This title couldn’t have been more fitting. Wichar and Stephanie have been waiting MONTHS longer than what they expected to for his visa to enter the United States from the Dominican Republic. From the moment Stephanie’s mom found out about Wichar and Stephanie being engaged, she instantly started using the app Duo Lingo to learn Spanish so that she could speak to him in his native language. Stephanie’s parents embraced Wichar and welcomed him into their family long before he even entered the country, and before they had ever met.

Wichar, who had only experienced temperatures above 65 degrees Fahrenheit his entire life, was fighting off shivers as the temperature outside settled into the upper 30s. Despite the cold, however, Wichar continued to give his million-dollar smile everywhere he went, which was only matched by Stephanie’s. 

John, Stephanie’s dad, also had these words to say to his new son-in-law: “Wichar, you have no idea how lucky you are to have Stephanie.” Knowing how much patience these two have had for their day, we know that they are both lucky to have each other. If two individuals are willing to go through as much patience and jump through as many hoops as they’ve had to in order to be married, then they must know that it’s worth it. It’s inspiring to us to see two individuals so committed to each other, and really demonstrates how amazing marriage can be.

These two ended their day with a reception in Stephanie’s home. Stephanie and Wichar welcomed neighbors, family, and friends who came to give their support. They were then sent off with a spectacular sparkler exit.
