The lady bug sat still, not moving a single muscle, on a leaf as Violet picked it up off the ground to show the camera. “Can we keep it?” Violet questioned her mom, Kylie, before we all hopped into our cars to drive to our last location for the session. Lady bugs are symbols of love and good luck in a lot of cultures and we think that both were on our side during the Christopherson’s family session. The way that the sun shone through the minty green leaves on the trees created a golden glow which was the perfect setting for this Layton family photography session.
The Christopherson family traveled from Wyoming to Utah to visit family for a weekend wedding. Jessie and Kylie have known each other since high school and share memories of tedious marching band practices and unforgettable basketball team trips. Meeting each other’s families for the first time was a total blast! Between these guys’ adorable outfits and the cute little giggles from baby Ryan, everything was in place for a great session! While we were taking pictures, every once in a while we’d all hear a little “oink, oink” coming from the backpack on Dallin’s back that held our son Liam. That oink, some sticks, dandelions, and a few games of chase were just enough to get some fantastic laughs and smiles out of Matthew, Ryan, and Violet.
At the end of the night, we headed to the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve. Springtime is one of the best times to go out to the Shorelands Preserve because of the colors and the lack of bugs! When we arrived, Kylie and Zack brought out some of the cleverest gifts for their kids for behaving so well. Watching the kids open up their presents and show off their bubbles, pin-wheel, and flowers, was the perfect ending to our Layton family photography session.
Kylie and Zack, thank you for letting us do your family pictures this year! We’re so glad that you made the trip, and we loved hanging out with the both of you and your kids. We had a ton of fun!
