Thanksgiving Point Summer Formal Session

Was that a raindrop? As we thought that, another little drop fell on our heads as we were just finishing up Shelby and Josh’s Thanksgiving Point summer formal session. There had been clouds all afternoon, but the weather report showed no significant chance of rain. Thankfully, no more than a couple drops was all that we had before the rain decided to not rear its head in full force. It was actually perfect to have the rain threatening to fall, because Thanksgiving Point can sometimes get a little busy, even during a COVID pandemic, and the dark clouds scared most everyone away, leaving the entire area almost exclusively to us.

One of our favorite places in the summer is Thanksgiving Point. There’s just so much life there! Colorful flowers are on every turn, and the clouds just added to the amazing scene. For Shelby and Josh, this place held even more significance. Near where we took these photos, in the Butterfly Biosphere, is where Josh proposed to Shelby. We can’t tell you how PERFECT Shelby’s dress was either. A fan of Audrey Hepburn and the classic style of the 1940s and 50s, this dress showed her styles through and through.

The one thing that we never had to worry about with Shelby and Josh was getting them to laugh. Josh is just about the biggest fan of Dad Jokes we’ve ever seen. When we asked him to get Shelby to laugh, he used a cajun accident to tell her what he had for breakfast – Mountain Dew, Pringles, and Chocolate – the breakfast of champions! Maybe that’s his secret for his creative Dad Jokes? We’re not sure… but we do know that it was the perfect thing to get Shelby (and the rest of us) to laugh!

Shelby and Josh, we love you two! Thanks for sharing so many laughs with us during your Thanksgiving Point summer formal session. You are both so adorable, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you! We hope you love these images as much as we do!
