Walker Farms: A Look Behind the Scenes

We are so excited to feature Walker Farms, a new wedding venue nestled in Lindon, Utah at the base of Mount Timpanogos, on our blog today! It’s rare that we see a venue that has had so much time and intentionality put into its construction and design. The building itself is bright, beautiful, and filled with unique details and antiques. Even more uncommon is a venue with an incredible staff! Since our first meeting with Jill, Christina, and Stephanie we have been impressed with the care they have for their couples and for what they do on a daily basis. It has been a pleasure to get to know each of them!

We interviewed Jill Jorgensen, the owner of Walker Farms and asked her a few questions about her space and its history!

What’s the history behind Walker Farms?

Walker farms was created and is owned and operated by me, Jill and my husband, Mike Jorgensen. We moved to Lindon in 1999 and began developing the property and farm in the hopes of creating a space for us and now the community to enjoy! We have loved raising our children, grandchildren, and beloved alpacas, goats, and ponies here in this little slice of heaven!

The Walker family originally homesteaded this property in the early 1900’s. The farmhouse where they raised their 11 children has been fully remodeled and now serves as the office for our exciting new business. Come and take a stroll down memory lane with us.

 

What made you decide to build a wedding venue?

In searching for the perfect venue for our four daughter’s weddings, we realized that the place we envisioned didn’t exist. That’s when we decided to make our dream a reality here in Utah County. With years of experience in creating and carefully planning events and weddings for family and friends, we have worked hard to bring Walker Farms to life!

This barn is a special place that has been a dream of mine for many, many years. It is finally ready and I am so excited to share this dream with you!

We know there are some incredible antiques that make up the venue. Can you tell us a few of the ones that stand out the most to you?

I have been an antique and junk collector my whole life, and I love knowing the stories from the things that I collect.

The chandelier and the antique doors in the barn are from a wholesaler who imports antiques from Europe. They are a few of my favorites and they definitely make the space unique.

*  Side note: When we went to visit we learned that the floorboards came from truck beds!

 

Who is a part of the team at Walker Farms?

Stephanie is our amazing event manager, wedding planner and coordinator. She has many years of experience as a caterer, florist, and bookkeeper. She is so great to work with and genuinely cares about each bride, groom, and event that happens at Walker Farms. We are so lucky to have her with us!                           

Christina does our marketing, social media, and bookings. She can answer any questions you might have about Walker Farms. If you have toured our barn, chances are you know Christina! She is a California girl and also a new momma! We love having her and are so glad she found us!

Matt and Ryan are our handymen who work hard to have things set up as close to your vision as possible! We love them!

What is it that sets Walker Farms apart?

Our goal is to help you create your wedding or event that is exactly your vision. We’re happy to help you with as much as you would like, or let you do the work. We have wonderful preferred vendors we can recommend, or you are more than welcome to use your own caterers, florists, photographers etc. We want you to have a special experience no matter what it takes.

 

What is the process like after a couple books their wedding?

They have time with our wedding planner included in the booking to plan a customized wedding according to what they want. Our door is always open and we are always available to answer any questions they may have.  Whether they are looking for a casual garden wedding, rustic barn, or modern elegance, we can help them plan the wedding of their dreams!

 

We loved every minute touring Walker Farms and we cannot wait until we get the opportunity to photograph a wedding here in the future! A huge thank you to Christina, Jill, and Stephanie for welcoming us!
