Victoria & Darren
Rain. Usually, this is the last thing a couple wants to have happen on their wedding day (well, next to snow of course)! However… sometimes… it happens. Victoria and Darren’s wedding was one of those rainy spring Ogden Temple wedding days. The morning weather showed that the rain was supposed to stop the moment that they exited the temple, a seemingly heaven-sent miracle. But when the time came for them to exit, the rain continued… and continued. The forecast updated each hour to show more and more rain. There was even a torrential downpour the moment that everyone put their umbrellas down for a big family photo.
In this moment, one that most people would think would be filled with annoyance or sorrow, the only thing we could see as we continued to look through our rain protected cameras was one very prevalent thing: smiles, big ones from ear to ear. With these smiles we heard family members repeating something that Victoria’s Grandpa Schroeder, who had recently passed away, would always say on a rainy day. “You’re not sugar, you won’t melt!” The rain, it seemed, was sent from above, in order for a granddaughter and her family to know that her grandpa was there, and was happy for her. This made us believe, as many cultures do, that rainy weather on a wedding day is a sign of good luck.
Victoria and Darren very much have a “come what may and love it” attitude. It was not about the weather or other things on the wedding day that could go wrong, but it was a day about them and the love that they have for each other.
One of our favorite moments of the day was having a ”luncheon” with Victoria and Darren at Chick-fil-A. This idea came about when we first met the two of them as we were going through their timeline. When we asked if they were going to have a luncheon, they said that they were probably going to Chick-fil-A or something like that. We KNEW this had to be captured on camera, and we were so glad that we were there! Can you imagine kids, grandkids, or nieces and nephews seeing photos of these two at Chick-fil-a in their wedding gown and suit and tie?! What a perfect memory for generations! Many thanks as well to the crew at Chick-fil-A Riverdale for treating all of us so well!
The reception was decked out with Disney themed décor, complete with Mickey ears around every corner, and even a Mickey and Minnie cake topper! Anyone who knows us, knows our obsession for Disney, so we could not have been more excited to capture each detail.
We loved shooting this spring Ogden Temple wedding! Victoria and Darren, thank you so much for giving us the chance to serve you. We hope that these photos will be cherished for generations, and that you will always remember your day as being absolutely perfect. We love you guys! Good luck throughout your future together!

Jessie and Dallin,
Wow! What can I say? Your blog post and your pictures are simply beautiful. You captured my daughter and her new husband perfectly, in image and word.
I must admit I haven’t looked too closely at all the pictures because my eyes are filled with tears from reading your words. You forgot to mention that the reason it was so easy to keep smiling during the rain was your infectious attitudes. Thank you for being fun and professional at the same time.
I never really considered that a wedding photographer could be “fun” but you two were. I had never met you until the wedding day, but it felt like we were instant friends. I can see now why Victoria and Darren were so excited after they met with you.
Thank you so much. You were a fantastic part of a perfect day ( rain or no rain)!
