Sam & Wyatt
With eyes covered, Anthony, Sam’s father, walked up to the open door where his daughter was waiting for him, dressed in a white wedding dress. As he stood in front of her, eyes still covered, Sam’s mom and bridesmaids stayed just out of sight, eagerly waiting and watching for Sam’s first look with her father. As everyone got into place, there was nervous and emotional tension in the air. Then, once directed, Anthony pulled his hand off of his face and looked up at his daughter, fully ready for her wedding day. As fast as his hands uncovered his eyes, they reached back up to cover his quivering lips, as tears started to stream down his face. Sam quickly embraced her father. This was now feeling real, Anthony and Missy’s oldest daughter was getting married today. This moment was just a taste of the impactful moments that filled Sam and Wyatt’s red rock wedding at The Ledges in St. George, Utah.
The Ledges in St. George provided a perfect place for Sam and Wyatt to share these experiences with their friends, family, and each other. Breathtaking backdrops of red rock seemed to be around every corner. Thanks to some great scouting by Wyatt while golfing with friends the day before, we were able to find a location behind one of the golf course holes that felt like we had landed in some foreign world, covered in rusty red rocks and a desert landscape. The sun was just setting, providing the “cherry on top” to the entire view.
Throughout the day, family and friends shared advice and best wishes with Sam and Wyatt. Many were emotional, such as when Wyatt’s dad gave his toast and shared some advice and thoughts, and the inclusion of Wyatt’s late mother, and Sam’s late grandmother in the little details throughout the day. Some were fun, like when one of Wyatt’s best friends happened to catch the bouquet after it flew over the bridesmaids. But the best way to describe this wedding day for both of these two would be… perfect. To top off this day, the night sky during this red rock wedding at The Ledges in St. George, Utah was clear and was perfect for an after-dark photo with a starry night sky overhead.
Sam and Wyatt, we can’t begin to express how lucky we feel to have been not only your wedding photographers but now your friends. You two have such big hearts and we are so grateful to have you in our lives. We wish you both the very best marriage anyone could ever have! Love you two!
