Oquirrh Mountain Temple and Draper Day Barn Winter Wedding

It was a frigid December day at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. As the two of us walked the grounds of the temple waiting for the signal that Aubrinn and Koleman were going to make their exit, we couldn’t help but imagine the sweet moments that were taking place inside during their ceremony. When we photograph LDS Temple weddings, we don’t get to witness or be a part of the sealing ceremony, so listening to stories after the fact is one of our favorite things to do. As the families fed off of each other’s energy and excitement to keep them warm during family portraits, we overheard Aubrinn’s grandma mention jokingly to Aubrinn that she saw her winking at Koleman over the altar during their ceremony. Just imagining that moment brought the biggest smiles to everyone’s faces. It totally fits these two and their relationship – so sweet and filled to the brim with fun! When you see the photos from Aubrinn and Koleman’s Oquirrh Mountain Temple and Draper Day Barn winter wedding, that feeling shines through.

One of our favorite portions of the day after hanging out at the temple was visiting Draper City Park to take photos with the Christmas lights and the Tree of Life! This tree covered in twinkling lights is massive and one of the “must see” icons each holiday season in Utah. As a kid Koleman visited the park often during the holidays with his parents and it was awesome to make that memory come full circle!

We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention the moments during their reception! That cake smash… one of the cutest and most memorable we’ve ever photographed! It’s so fun when couples’ momentum during the cake cutting grows second by second! A huge shout-out as well to the best send-off sparkler company on the planet. These things lasted and sparkled better than any other kind we’ve ever used!

Aubrinn and Koleman, meeting and getting to know you two was one of the highlights of 2020 for us. Yes, 2020 was not the best year on record in the world, but you two made it fantastic for the two of us!
