Leslie & Nathan
During family photos Jessie takes the reins as the main photographer and focuses on the traditional portraits, while Dallin takes a side angle to capture more candid shots. Typically, Dallin goes about his job quietly and isn’t noticed by anyone that is a part of the photo. As Dallin was shooting, he began to notice Leslie, the bride, turning to look at him each time making a funny face. These moments perfectly describe Leslie and Nathan’s Ogden Utah LDS Temple Wedding. They were surrounded by family and friends throughout the day, and they made time for the fun and silly moments.
Goofy, joyful, lighthearted, emotional, gracious, detail oriented, and exciting are the adjectives that come to mind when we think of Leslie and Nathan’s wedding day. The weather at the Ogden temple was chilly to say the least, but with the hand warmers stuffed in our coats we didn’t notice it much. That wasn’t because we were immune to the cold, but because of the energy, love, and excitement that we felt throughout the day.
When we first arrived for their Ogden Utah LDS Temple wedding we spent our time taking candid photos and pictures of the temple grounds. While we did that one of Nathan’s nieces ran right up to Dallin! She was so excited to see her uncle Nathan that she confused him for Dallin and thought that Dallin was Nathan. Nathan you are one very loved uncle! Nathan’s nieces were so cold, but were troopers the whole time. The littlest niece made the best faces too during almost every one of her pictures. She knew exactly how she felt about being out in the cold!
The love that Leslie and Nathan’s family and friends have for them could be felt all day. Leslie and Nathan’s grandmas were both such a joy to watch and capture photos of. Leslie’s Grandma Fern made the most beautiful quilts for them, and Nathan’s “Mammie” was the life of the party! As soon as she arrived at the reception in her “party dress” we knew the fun had only just started! Not only did Mammie participate in the bouquet toss, but she, Nathan’s sister Sarah, and his mom Linda made the wedding cakes. Those are the kind of family memories that we love to capture at weddings.
All of the decorations at their reception at the Farmington Community Arts Center were done with such care and attention to detail. Leslie and her sister own a jewelry company called “Adventure Darling” and create the cutest items. We saw that same creativity and detail come through for the reception decor. Some of our favorite details were the vinyl decals on the doors with Leslie and Nathan’s initials, and the outline sketch of one of their engagement photos. They even had a caricature drawing booth setup by Leslie’s brother Ben! We have to give a huge shout out to all the family and friends that helped put those together and served guests throughout the night.
Leslie and Nathan, you two are the perfect match! Your combination of fun, sentimentality and love for each other was so easy to see. Between the funny faces, Leslie riding around on the electric scooter, the beautiful moments during toasts, and your first dance, you kept us smiling. We hope you enjoy the special photo we included of Penelope Pineapple and Monte Monster! We cannot wait to see all of the adventures you both have in life, and we wish the two of you the very best! Love you guys!
