Snow fell in an almost magical way around us, chilling our cameras and falling into our hair during this Ogden temple winter wedding. It was a light snowfall, but enough to put a bite in the cold December air. Snow wasn’t in the forecast that Rachel and Nathan had been watching consistently for the month leading up to their wedding, but there it was. It fell softly into our candid images of Rachel and Nathan’s adorable nieces and nephews that were dressed to the nines with their bow ties, suspenders, flower crowns, and pink dresses for their aunt and uncle’s wedding day.
As Rachel and Nathan exited the Ogden temple, their nieces and nephews, wrapped in warm blankets ran up to them to give them hugs of congratulations. It was one of the cutest things to witness and just as that happened the snow fall abruptly stopped and didn’t come back for the rest of the day. This Ogden temple winter wedding, though chilly, was filled with family and tradition. Getting the chance to photograph Rachel with her great, great grandmother’s parasol that she made in 1910 was so special. If you want to see more pictures featuring the parasol, click here to check out their formal session at the Utah State Capitol.
It was such a pleasure to photograph Rachel and Nathan’s wedding day and spend time getting to know their family and friends. We had moments of laughter when Rachel brought out her Dr. Pepper to help her recharge, and when Rachel’s grandpa made jokes about being featured in People Magazine – wouldn’t that be fantastic!? It was so fun to see Rachel and Nathan’s dads wear their Air Force mess dress as well throughout the evening for pictures and for the daddy daughter dance. We also can’t forget the pink Italian Janette cookies that we were able to try at the reception- everyone needs to try one of those! They gave us that last boost of energy that we needed to send Rachel and Nathan off with a sparkler exit and limo ride!
Rachel and Nathan, congratulations on your wedding! We had so much fun working with and getting to know you both the past few months! We can’t wait to see where life takes you. We love you guys!
