Ogden Temple Summer Formal Session

“I’m so nervous…” Spencer stood waiting with his heart racing. It was as if time had stopped, and an eternity was passing before the next moment.  “Spencer.” That was the cue from his future wife that it was okay to turn around to get a first look at her in her wedding dress. After a deep breath, Spencer turned, and instantly, the nerves melted away and an expression of love came across his face. The smiling faces of Torri and Spencer and the gorgeous late afternoon were a setting that could not have been more perfect for this Ogden Temple summer formal session.

Spencer and Torri were set up on their first date by their mothers who work together as nurses. After one look at a photo of Torri, Spencer got her number and they went on their first date. The rest, as they say, is history. Spencer proposed after picking out a ring himself and holding onto it for a couple of weeks. He had so many butterflies waiting until he could have everything perfect to pop the question to Torri. He proposed to Torri by setting up photos around her house with significant dates that were special between the two of them, such as the date of their first date, first kiss, and so on. The photos led to the basement where he was hiding behind a corner with a ring, and when she reached the last photo in the basement, he stepped out and proposed to her (to which she obviously said “yes!”)

If we were to give one piece of advice to someone searching for a spouse, we would say to be like Spencer and Torri and find someone that always gives you butterflies, even after being together for years. Do whatever it takes to keep those feelings for your spouse long after being married.
