Victoria & Ben
Diamonds are a peculiar rock. As the hardest naturally occurring substance in the world, a diamond doesn’t just grow on a tree. In fact, it takes a high amount of pressure and heat before the crystal structure of a diamond can form. Even after going through all of the stresses and strains on this rock to get the structure just right to become a diamond, you still are left with a rock that is opaque and does not look like a polished diamond that we all think of when we see a wedding ring. When Ben was hand-making Victoria’s wedding ring, he chose to use a raw, unpolished diamond. This was used to symbolize how each of them had their own imperfections and are accepting and loving each other for who they are, and what they’ve both been through. During their Hogle Zoo Engagement session, we could easily tell that this is exactly who these two are for each other, qualities that we believe every couple should have.
The other interesting thing about diamonds is how you polish them to get them to sparkle. Since diamonds are so hard, the only thing that can mechanically polish them, is another diamond. Most of us have heard how diamonds are timeless. Symbolically, that is why they are traditionally used in wedding rings, because the love between the two being married should last forever. After seeing Victoria’s wedding ring, however, we look at it another way. Just as diamonds can only be shaped and polished with another diamond, so it is with a marriage. Two “diamonds in the rough” can make something that is perfect and unbreakable, so long as they work together, are honest with each other, and help each other.
In the short time we’ve known Victoria and Ben, we can tell that these two are undoubtedly committed to each other. They will be able to deflect any of life’s problems and challenges and continue forward. They understand that marriage isn’t a destination, but the beginning of a lot of work, and are ready for the adventure.
Victoria and Ben, thank you for letting us have so much fun with you two during your Hogle Zoo Engagement session! It was one of the most unique places we’ve been for an engagement session, and we’re so glad that you asked to have them here (you may have started a trend!) and we believe that it was the perfect place for you two. We’re excited to continue to serve you in the future, and can’t wait for your wedding day!
