Candace & Andrew
We drove higher and higher up the mountainside. Each switchback seemed to be getting closer to the sky. No wonder the name of this road was called “Going to the Sun Road”. In other words, it felt like we were so high that we were going to be touching the sun at any moment – which is definitely something that would have been not approved by the likes of Icarus :). As we came over Logan Pass, we fell back out of the clouds which revealed some of the most spectacular views available in the United States. Following their wedding the previous day in the forests of Montana, we went on an adventure with Candace and Andrew for their Glacier National Park wedding formal session.
As we walked toward St. Mary’s Lake, the clouds overhead continued to break from the threatening passing storm and the wind whipped Candace’s wedding dress around her. The views were almost too big for the cameras we had, forcing us to sometimes use panoramic techniques to capture the vastness of the scene.
Continuing on to the next location, bear spray at the ready, Andrew led us through some areas recovering from a previous forest fire. Suddenly he stopped in his tracks, forcing us all to pause and look up. There in front of us was a big, black shape almost as large as a small car. Hurriedly, we reached for the bear spray, getting ready to aim… only then realizing it was just a large, charred log in the almost exact shape of a black bear! We all laughed it off and continued on to the epic locations that awaited us.
Candace and Andrew, this Glacier National Park wedding formal session was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had! Thank you for trusting us, and giving us the opportunity to capture these moments for you two.
