Even if you are getting married at an LDS temple, we’d love to get a picture of your invitation/invitation suite. This is one of the best reasons to do a formal session before you get married. We love having two copies so that we can get the back side and front side in the same picture. Same goes for envelopes, bringing two allows us to showcase each side! If you are having a traditional wedding, bring the invitations to your getting ready room.
Make sure to take your ring in for a cleaning before your wedding day. It will be on center stage throughout the whole day, so let that baby shine! It’ll really make it “pop” in ring shots as well.
If you have a ring box, or are thinking about getting one, do it! Bring your ring box with you to your getting ready room if you are having a traditional wedding so that we can use it for detail shots. If you are getting married in an LDS temple, put it with your invitations and have your mom or maid of honor deliver it to us after you come out of the temple.
There is nothing better on a wedding day than including something that has meaning to you. Be sure to let us know ahead of time so that we can make sure to photograph it for you. We’ve had brides bring necklaces that came from a country that they have ties to, a cross from their grandma, or shoes that fit their personality. Don’t be afraid to give your wedding a personal touch!
We love our job as Utah wedding photographers, but when we work all day we can run out of steam. Photographers and other vendors that are working for you on your wedding day will love you forever for giving them a chance to grab something to eat at your luncheon or reception. We always stuff our faces fast, just to get those necessary calories and then we go right back to work.
This is something that is so easy to forget, but really important. Be sure to have a family member or friend assigned to watch over the gift and card table. Not only can they help guests navigate where to leave their gifts for you, but they can also keep an eye on things to make sure nothing goes amiss.
We hope that this list is helpful when prepping for your wedding! As Utah wedding photographers, we’ve seen so many things forgotten and it is usually the small things that are left behind. These are also typically the items that often have a lot of meaning for our brides and grooms. Is there anything else that brides often forget that could be added to this list?
