Shelby & Josh
Sugar and caramel was spun and draped over the top of a masterful tower of cream puffs – something out of a dream… or a wedding in France! This dessert, known as a croquembouche is a popular substitute for wedding cakes throughout France, and has special meaning to Shelby. From the first time we talked to Shelby on the phone, finding a vendor that could create a croquembouche was something that was at the top of her list, and we knew if anyone could deliver on this it was Julia Green, and she did such an incredible job! With wide eyes, everyone stared in awe as the croquembouche was delivered during Shelby and Josh’s Fountain View Event Venue and Bountiful Temple wedding. We’d never seen anything like it, and the “cake smash” that followed was one we’ll never forget.
As we geared up for the “cutting” or more like pulling apart the croquembouche we knew that we and Shelby and Josh’s wedding guests were in for a treat, but we had no idea we were in for as much fun as it was! The pulling apart began kindly and innocently as they fed each other cream puffs, and then one thing led to another and before they knew it they were each covered in puffs and filling! We loved every second of it!
The rest of Shelby and Josh’s wedding day cannot be overlooked or go without mentioning as well. Shelby’s sister Sydni surprised the two of them with a classic car at the end of the night that would whisk them away after their sparkler send-off. The love and care that went into this surprise from Sydni was one of the sweetest gestures we’ve ever witnessed and Shelby’s reaction was one of pure excitement and joy. Shelby and Josh’s wedding had a vintage vibe to match Shelby’s love of Audrey Hepburn and classic films, and the car was the perfect final touch.
Getting to know Shelby and Josh has not only increased our playbook of dad jokes, but has been so much fun! These two compliment each other as well as can be. Josh adores Shelby’s Christ-like love, while Shelby appreciates Josh’s sense of humor and the way that he can always bring a smile to her face.
Shelby and Josh, as you two grow together we hope that you continue to laugh at silly dad jokes, and to love and serve each other in the best ways. Now, go pick up those Star Wars Legos from Josh’s mom so that you can finish decorating your new home! 🙂
