We had the pleasure of meeting Doris a year ago when we photographed Tana and Dawn’s September wedding at the Hyatt Centric. From the first time we met Doris, we have been beyond impressed. She puts her all into creating the perfect day for her couples at the Hyatt Centric in Park City. Doris has a background in hospitality and her heart for service shows. If you are looking for a Utah mountain wedding venue, with exceptional service (the BEST in our opinion) and so many available amenities for you and your guests, the Hyatt Centric is your place!
Total side note, but when you visit, you HAVE to try their burgers at their in-house restaurant. The burger with the tomato jelly is life changing! Their catering and staff know what they are up to!
But we digress. We had the chance to meet again with Doris to ask her in more detail about the Hyatt Centric and what it looks like to book them for your Utah mountain wedding venue!
Tell us a little bit about how you came to the Hyatt Centric.
I joined the Hyatt family in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management. Before joining Hyatt, I had several years of experience in food/wine festivals as well as a variety of social events to include weddings and engagement parties. My listening skills, attention to detail and personality allow me to engage better with couples and help bring their vision to life on their special day.
If you had to pick a few favorites, what features at the Hyatt do you love most?
First off, we offer a year round destination for weddings! We have two different ceremony site options including a lushly landscaped ceremony garden elegantly appointed with cascading rock and stone features, and an indoor option with windows and natural light for days when the weather isn’t the best. The Hyatt Centric also offers sweeping views of the Wasatch Back Mountain Range, surrounded by the abundant foliage and colorful landscape which make it the ultimate backdrop for a wedding.
A few other favorite things!
- Our menu features local ingredients and craft cocktails. It’s a diverse selection that guests will rave about for years to come!
- We’re a small, luxury boutique property with only 120 guestrooms. This means that guests will not get lost in the mix like they might at a larger hotel.

Tell us about the wedding team at the Hyatt Centric.
The team is made up of myself, a certified wedding specialist with 10+ years in the industry, and also an experienced culinary and banquet team to ensure impeccable service and enhance personal choices.
If you were to tell a couple what it is that sets The Hyatt Centric apart, what would you tell them?

What is the process like after a couple books The Hyatt Centric for their venue?
We begin collaborating on all the details. Part of this includes making diagrams, guiding them through the menus and décor options, scheduling additional walk-throughs and arranging a tasting.
Is there anything that you wish brides and grooms would know about before they choose a venue for their wedding day?
There are two main things they should consider.

- Seasons are important. June – September are the ideal months for an outdoor wedding.
- We recommend hiring a “day-of” wedding coordinator to provide additional support

Tana and I wanted a wedding in the mountains. Something close enough to home, but could be a destination so Park City was the perfect place. We proved our dozens of options, talked to dozen of wedding coordinators, and the second we met Doris- we knew we had found the perfect person to handle every details. Because the entire Staff will make you and your guests feel like family the second you drive in and the property is stunning – a Devine balance small and intimate yet complete with all the big resort type amenities.
Our day was perfect. And I know that was largely due to the team we had. Doris was the grand master! And Jessie and Dallin like our best friends! I mean.. just look at how perfectly they capture every moment! So soft- amazing use of lighting. Seriously.. with these three on your team.. your wedding will be everything you have always dreamed of.. and you will meet some of the best people out there.
